After a few weeks of eating more sugar than I probably needed, I made a shift. I decided I was over it and began to change my diet again (easier said than done!). I am always researching foods and what their medicinal purposes or qualities are. Food is medicine. It has healing properties and can be our greatest weapon against disease and illness.
One day after leaving Equinox I grabbed a Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar Limeade, knowing all of the detoxifying benefits of apple cider vinegar! I was surprised at how good it was! But of course, I thought "this could be better!". So, I went out and bought my favorite citrus fruits (lemons, oranges and grapefruit) and started to make my own antioxidant packed version.
I started drinking this as a pre workout, too! I read that apple cider vinegar can reduce muscle fatigue. I found it to be effective and saw my squat weight go up this past two weeks. This recipe has also totally killed my sugar cravings! So delicious and amazing!
Zest of (1/6) Grapefruit, (1/3) Lemon or (1/4) Orange
1/3 the inside of the fruit
2-3 TBSP Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
16oz-24oz Water & Ice
Stevia or prefered sweetener to taste
Blend and drink up!
The zest of the fruit has 10x MORE antioxidants and vitamins than the fruit itself! It also adds a extra citrus kick! :)
